About the role

Responsible for efficient and quality pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment in a safe manner. Installation and networking of gear may be necessary during delivery to customers. The quality and professionalism demonstrated can directly impact future customer purchase decisions. Provides basic training on delivered devices and meets all federal DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures equipment is safely delivered to the correct location.
  • Maintains log books in accordance with DOT regulations (Electronic or manual).
  • Performs pre- and post-trip reviews to ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and compliance with DOT and state laws.
  • Performs pick-up of product during delivery to minimize costs.
  • Conducts basic connected installations, including setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, removing hard drives when required, backing up and uploading customer address books, and providing basic customer training on printing standalone and network devices.
  • Participates in Safety Programs and pre-calls customers when applicable.
  • Achieves expected productivity levels associated with assigned workload and experience.
  • Demonstrates strong technical and customer relation skills; identifies customer needs and determines appropriate action.
  • Provides constructive feedback to service and process teams regarding networking and installation initiatives.
  • Completes technical training on new equipment as required.
  • Maintains a professional appearance in driver uniform.
  • Contacts Dispatch and/or service department if a technician is needed.
  • Ensures equipment is configured according to the Bill of Lading, traveler, or other documentation.
  • Ensures equipment is properly loaded and secured in the boxed van/truck.
  • Uses a phone to capture electronic customer signatures upon completion of scheduled transactions.
  • Ensures all paperwork is signed and properly processed.
  • Assists with loading/off-loading trucks as needed.
  • Helps train new Delivery Drivers on new products and proper loading procedures.
  • Follows all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures.
  • Conducts cycle counts and inventory reconciliation when required; reconciles inventory at the end of the day based on route completion and reports discrepancies.
  • Meets productivity and quality standards as outlined by management.
  • Responsible for an inventory value of up to $1,000,000.
  • Overnight stays may be required.
  • Operates warehouse equipment such as forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Safe driving record and history.
  • Online technical training focused on networking and installation.
  • On-the-job training with field technicians at customer locations or at the Transfer Center.
  • Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with company policy.
  • Minimum two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Valid and current medical card.
  • At least 20 years of age, properly licensed in the current state of residence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license if applicable per state.
  • Ability to read maps and use electronic GPS.
  • Overnight stays may be required based on DOT regulations or peak periods.

Skills

  • Ability to physically handle oversized and overweight equipment.
  • Identification of at-risk behaviors and ability to make quick corrections.
  • Strong customer presentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with smart phones, tablets, and handheld electronic technology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Adequate technical skills to install and network equipment.
  • Methodical approach to resolving problems that arise during the day.
  • Adequate reading, math, and legible writing skills.
  • May be required to be certified on operation and use of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, stair climber).

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions may result in serious injuries if proper lifting, moving procedures, or road safety rules are not followed.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling required to service equipment at floor level.
  • Physical effort required in lifting equipment weighing up to 100 pounds and moving equipment up to 1000 pounds.
  • Diversified work assignments requiring interpretation, comprehension, and application of complex material, data, and instructions.
  • Work environments include office, warehouse, and van/truck settings with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise levels.
  • Frequent exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
  • Ability to work independently.

Pay

$17.79 - $23.50 per hour.
