Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver pizzas and beverages to customers within a designated area.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes.
Skills
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills for making correct monetary change and performing calculations.
- Motor coordination for rapid and accurate movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Far and night vision for safe driving.
- Ability to work under stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments and decisions.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering or performing outside tasks.
- In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or above in some work areas.
- Exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters.
- Hot surfaces and tools from ovens up to 500°F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
- Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between the store and delivery vehicle.
- Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds, lifted from the floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray). During delivery, carry pizzas and beverages.
- Pushing: Move trays on dollies, requiring a force of up to 7.5 pounds.
- Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladders for maintenance or deliveries (up to five or more flights).
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist, especially at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions, including above 72" for oven controls or changing prices.
- Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated area, potentially making several deliveries per shift.
