Advancement
Many of our team members began as delivery drivers and have advanced to successful franchise owners or corporate management roles. From delivery driver to general manager, our stores offer a world of opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver pizzas and beverages to customers within a designated area.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes, while carrying product.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
- Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
- Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer locations.
- Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Unload bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) and stack onto shelves up to 72" high. Carry trays of pizza dough (12 pounds per tray), large cans (3 pounds, 7 ounces), and pizza sauce (30 pounds).
- Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 pounds).
- Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices, washing walls, or maintenance. May require climbing five or more flights of stairs during deliveries.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly station, front counter, stocking ingredients).
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning on oven controls, scooping ingredients, or answering phones.
- Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated area, potentially making several deliveries per shift.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to:
- Varying/adverse weather conditions (e.g., removing trash, deliveries).
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas.
- Sudden temperature changes.
- Food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Hot surfaces/tools (oven up to 500°F or higher).
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements:
- Talking/hearing on the telephone.
- Near/mid-range vision for in-store tasks.
- Depth perception and ability to differentiate between hot/cold surfaces.
- Far vision and night vision for driving.
- Temperaments:
- Direct activities and perform repetitive tasks.
- Work alone or with others under stress.
- Meet strict quality control standards.
- Deal with people, analyze/compile data, and make judgments/decisions.
