Delivery Driver / Shop Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a Delivery Driver / Shop Associate for S.A. Comunale. This position drives a company truck to transport materials and equipment to construction job sites. It also includes responsibilities such as cleaning and organizing the shop.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Verifies and secures loads.
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
• Drives truck to assigned destination(s).
• Assists workers in unloading and loading truck when required.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, etc.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Fills work orders, or requests for materials, tools or other stock items.
• Maintains inventory records.
• Maintains cleanliness for shop/warehouse/storage yard/parking lot/offices as needed.
• Ensures all equipment is maintained, repaired when necessary, and inspected properly.
• Utilizes tow behind trailer to make deliveries and pick-ups.
• Delivers and picks up permit applications, permits, and approved drawings.
• Must be able to work overtime and off-hour shifts as required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two or more years of related work experience is required.
• Previous purchasing/inventory experience is a plus.
• Vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
• The ability to obtain a current DOT Medical Card is required.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
• Previous experience operating a forklift is required.
• Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel) applications is required.
