About the role
Reporting to the Driver Supervisor, you will be a vital member of our distribution department, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries of aftermarket collision auto parts to customers. In addition to delivery duties, you will collect payments, maintain positive customer relationships, and uphold vehicle safety and maintenance standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a Sprinter van to deliver aftermarket collision auto parts to customers' specified locations.
- Follow delivery routes to optimize efficiency and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Handle and load auto parts with care to prevent damage during transit; verify accuracy against invoices and report discrepancies.
- Collect payments from customers upon delivery, following company guidelines and handling cash/checks securely.
- Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries or escalating issues as needed to maintain strong relationships.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, perform routine maintenance (e.g., fueling, cleaning), and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery routes, payment transactions, and mileage; submit reports as required.
- Adhere to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies while driving and handling deliveries.
- Use proper lifting techniques and safety equipment (e.g., gloves, safety glasses) to prevent injuries during loading/unloading.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of safety regulations is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry auto parts weighing up to 60 pounds using proper techniques.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods during loading/unloading and maintenance tasks.
- Sit and drive for extended periods in varying weather and traffic conditions.
- Perform repetitive tasks (e.g., counting cash, filling out documentation) with fine motor skills.
- Adequate vision and hearing to navigate routes, read documents, and respond to auditory cues (e.g., sirens, horns).
- Maintain balance, coordination, and physical endurance for extended hours and demanding tasks.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure personal and others' safety.
