Atlantic Tire Distributors, located in Garner, NC, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join their team. They operate warehouses in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee and are expanding, offering an excellent career opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up tires.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Report on any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Properly document goods delivered or loaded.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
• Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.

Skills

• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles.
• Material Handling: Load, unload, secure, and move products safely using hands, arms, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Understand basic warehouse processes including receiving, picking, staging, and inventory handling.

• Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and identify equipment issues to maintain safety and compliance.

• Problem Solving: Apply practical thinking to address delivery challenges, unexpected delays, or customer concerns.
