Delivery Driver/Medical Equipment Technician

About the role

DME Express is experiencing tremendous growth and is seeking drivers/technicians to deliver and pick up medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, and oxygen for hospice patients. Responsibilities

• Determines or obtains the best daily route, assembles, delivers all needed equipment, and educates patients and families on proper equipment use.
• Enforces all DOT and FDA regulations pertaining to oxygen and DME for the assigned service center.
• Ensures appropriate stock levels and maintains highest standards of cleanliness in the warehouse and delivery vehicle.
• Ensures that all Medical Equipment Technicians adhere to company and accreditation standards.
• Provides patient/client orientation and instructions on proper equipment use when applicable.
• Works with patients/clients to solve a variety of problems, acting as a company field representative.
• Completes delivery and pickup processes through the app promptly and accurately.
• Assists in cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repair of equipment.
• Performs daily preventive maintenance on the assigned vehicle as required.
• Maintains a neat, clean personal appearance.
• Promotes teamwork among co‑workers, including assisting fellow drivers as needed.
• Performs warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
• Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when working with clients.
• Markets the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Requirements

• Must maintain a positive attitude at all times.
• Must accept other duties and activities as assigned.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds on a daily basis.
• COVID‑19 precautions: personal protective equipment provided and required; temperature screenings and social distancing guidelines in place; regular sanitizing and disinfecting of all equipment and vehicles.
• Position operates on a 24/7 basis with a predetermined rotating on‑call schedule.

Pay

$17‑18 hourly wage.

Schedule
