Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company delivery vehicle to complete scheduled customer deliveries within assigned service areas.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload merchandise while following all safety procedures and DOT requirements.
- Deliver outstanding customer service during every interaction, resolving routine delivery questions and escalating issues when necessary.
- Utilize handheld technology to manage delivery routes, obtain customer signatures, and document delivery completion.
- Carry out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure merchandise is delivered in excellent condition.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, vehicle safety standards, and applicable transportation regulations.
- Support warehouse operations as needed, including pulling, stocking, staging, and inventory-related activities.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Communicate proactively regarding delivery delays, route changes, or customer concerns.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- General studies or technical school graduate or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) between 14,500 and 26,000 pounds.
- Ability to meet all applicable DOT requirements and maintain required medical certification.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds, with team-lift support available for heavier items.
- Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime when business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous route delivery, final-mile delivery, or customer-facing delivery experience.
- Experience operating forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Retail logistics or warehouse experience.
- Experience using handheld mobile technology and delivery management systems.
