About the role
This position involves safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse to customers via tractor-trailer, ensuring proper delivery and unloading according to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver products on time, following assigned routes.
- Unload products using manual methods or carts, adhering to safety and customer specifications.
- Handle damaged goods, returns, and transport back to the warehouse.
- Complete all paperwork accurately, including logs, inspections, and invoices.
- Maintain food safety and sanitary standards during delivery and in equipment.
- Operate equipment safely, including hand carts and delivery vehicles.
- Build positive customer relationships through courteous service and clear communication.
- Report route, trailer, or product issues to management.
- Transport backhauls and line haul products, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Follow work schedules and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED; tractor trailer driving experience preferred.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting practices.
- Skills in long-distance driving, customer communication, problem-solving, and delivering products.
- Ability to operate large vehicles, read/write English, perform basic math, and organize work independently.
Physical & Work Environment
The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, operating equipment, and working in diverse conditions, including cold, heat, and confined spaces. The work involves frequent driving, climbing in/out of trucks, and exposure to noise, fumes, and varying weather. Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
