Delivery Driver - DOT

About the role

The position involves delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using box and flat-bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Responsibilities include ensuring deliveries meet customer requirements, loading customer orders, operating vehicles safely and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to assigned routes and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
• Load customer orders properly on the truck
• Complete appropriate forms
• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a safe, timely manner
• Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from customers
• Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules
• Absorb all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
• Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries
• Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21 years
• Licensed to drive a commercial vehicle
• Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC)
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. on occasion
• Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends
• Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish if applicable

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• One year of experience working as a delivery driver
• One year of work experience using material handling equipment
• Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
