Responsibilities
- Operate all equipment and stock ingredients from delivery area to storage and work areas.
- Prepare products and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility on a daily basis.
- Deliver orders to customers, navigating to addresses within the designated delivery area, including multi-story buildings and adverse terrain.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and provide correct change.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle for delivery use.
- Ability to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area.
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately (calculator use permitted).
- Strong communication skills: comprehend and give written instructions; communicate verbally with customers and coworkers.
- Motor coordination for precise, rapid movements and order entry via keyboard or touch screen.
Work environment
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks.
- In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in some areas.
- Sudden temperature changes in the work area and while outside.
- Fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters including the walk-in cooler.
- Hot surfaces and tools (up to 500°F or higher), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Physical requirements
- Standing for most tasks; walking for short distances on ceramic tile, brick, or linoleum surfaces.
- Lifting bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stacking to shelves up to 72 inches high.
- Carrying items such as 3 lb 7 oz cans, 30 lb pizza sauce, and trays of pizza dough (≈12 lbs each).
- Pushing trays on dollies (up to 7.5 lbs of force) and occasional pulling.
- Infrequent climbing of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing sign prices or washing walls.
