Delivery Driver CDL-A (Lakeland, FL)

Essential Functions

• Deliver and pick up products to customers and get receiving tickets signed.
• Act as the face of the Company in the customer environment.
• Absorb and relay dispatch information to plan routes efficiently.
• Maintain continuous communication with the dispatcher regarding delays or issues.
• Keep a truck mileage log as required by DOT regulations.
• Perform routine inspections on assigned equipment and report defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
• Document pre-trip and/or post-trip inspections when applicable.
• Operate equipment safely and securely.
• Unload products, including using a donkey if required, at customers' sites.
• Provide customer service as needed.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Secure loads before each run.
• Represent Harrell’s positively at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and company policies.
• Maintain valid licenses, certifications, and endorsements required for responsibilities.
• Process system information and document inventory transactions accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Two years’ experience as a commercial driver and operating a forklift.
• Valid Class A or B CDL driver’s license (site specific).
• Valid medical certification.
• Valid Hazmat certification (site specific).
• Knowledge of the geographical area for efficient routing.
• Ability to follow instructions without constant supervision.
• Physical capabilities to lift a minimum of 60 pounds regularly, stand, walk, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, bend, and grasp.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
• Exposure to various traffic conditions and possible construction.
• Exposure to noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
• Wear steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back braces, and safety attire as noted by guides provided in specific areas.
• Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
