Delivery Driver (CDL A)
About the role
Christman Constructors, Inc. (CCI) is seeking a Delivery Driver (CDL A) in their Lansing, Michigan region. This role involves assisting with warehouse maintenance, checking and securing cargo, and performing basic vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assists with maintaining warehouse conditions to a high standard of safety, organization, and cleanliness inside and outside the facility
- Checks documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Inspects loads to ensure cargo is secure
- Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage
- Maintains logs and other documentation, as required
- Follows delivery instructions accordingly
- Checks condition of trailers and equipment, reporting any issues immediately
- Sets up cargo for transport, using provided and required equipment
- Follows appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, including emergency roadside repairs
- Loads and unloads trucks utilizing forklift
- Repairs and maintains tools and equipment
- Prepares orders for delivery
- Drives trucks and delivers orders to construction sites
- Performs basic computer functions
- Maintains vehicle yard
Requirements
- Two (2) years of applicable experience delivering equipment
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Current and valid class A CDL
- Good driving record, and compliance with DOT and other applicable requirements
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Basic knowledge and understanding of construction instruments/tools
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Ability to work at a fast and steady pace to meet production goals
- Ability to operate large equipment safely
- Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures

Pay
The salary range for this position is $XX - $YY per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with occasional extended hours and weekends. Travel to project sites for deliveries is required, with most travel confined to the local area and occasional travel to other locations outside the local area.
