About the role
As a Delivery Driver, you will be the company representative interacting with clients daily. This role offers full-time employment, great pay and benefits, and opportunities for advancement within a stable and growing company.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and drop off automotive parts while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.
- Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness, accuracy of charges, and customer satisfaction.
- Follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to assigned routes, and use route navigation apps or alternative routes as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with customer operations.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints or concerns.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Accept payments, prepare reports (invoices, return forms), and reconcile debt, credit, and collected moneys.
- Complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and report any issues to the manager.
- Assist with other store/warehouse duties such as stocking and parts pulling as assigned.
- Maintain and promote workplace safety, including securing and transferring cash or other assets.
Requirements
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over).
- Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers must lift 75 lbs).
- Prolonged sitting during deliveries.
Skills
- Ability to manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
- Proficiency in using a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking, and customer interface/signature capture.
- Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate professionally, tactfully, and diplomatically.
- Ability to take and follow directions and work well as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work overtime as needed.
- Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
