Delivery Driver

About the role

SWDS Drivers deliver products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores using Company vans or pickup trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.

This is a part-time position with starting pay of $17.66 per hour.

Duties involve contact with customers (including minors) and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. A criminal-history review is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently.
• Load customer orders properly on the truck.
• Complete appropriate delivery forms.
• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers safely and on time.
• Maintain the store vehicle and report repair or servicing needs to the supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
• Adhere to assigned routes and time schedules.
• Maintain a safe driving record and abide by all transportation laws.
• Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operate equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts, and material-handling machines.
• Perform additional store tasks, including warehouse duties, tinting, mixing customer orders, and assisting customers.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future.
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
• Able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal and completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
• At least one year of experience using material-handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts).
• Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
