Delivery Driver

About the role

This position involves transporting materials over designated routes while ensuring safe operation of vehicles and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of vehicles during transportation.
• Provide prompt and courteous deliveries of orders.
• Verify that material loaded on the truck matches the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest.
• Secure materials for safe transport from store to destination.
• Unload materials at each delivery location in an orderly fashion.
• Verify that materials are correct based on the Ship Ticket.
• Perform daily detailed inspections of the vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety.
• Maintain an orderly warehouse by receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Android or iOS operating systems.
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
• A satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) with no Type A violations within the past seven years; no speeding violations of 15+ mph over the limit within the past three years; or more than one (1) Type B violations within the past three years.
• One (1) year of experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or greater within the last 36 months.
• Strong skills in reading, writing, performing basic calculations, data entry, reasoning, and analysis.
• The ability to work independently while managing a variety of tasks accurately and with attention to detail in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Handling and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds is expected, with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.
