About the Role
This position combines local delivery driving with warehouse picking and packing. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday on the 1st shift, with occasional requirements outside these hours.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products to customers and select orders in the warehouse.
- Work safely and efficiently at all times, following assigned operational procedures.
- Communicate delivery instructions verbally and in writing to customers.
- Load delivery trucks efficiently, ensuring cargo stability.
- Complete safety checklists and driver logs accurately before each shift.
- Safely operate refrigerated delivery trucks (box trucks/vans) with manual or automatic transmission.
- Maintain truck appearance, safety, and sanitation of the cargo bay.
- Resolve customer questions and ensure satisfaction by contacting Customer Service or the Warehouse Manager.
- Prepare Common Carrier shipments and pull orders as needed.
- Operate shrink wrap machines, electric-powered equipment, manual pallet jacks, and other warehouse tools safely.
- Communicate shipment issues proactively to management and assist in problem-solving.
- Follow all warehouse policies, company procedures, safety guidelines, GMPs, QA checklists, and production standards.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute positively when interacting with team members and customers.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by management.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for safe job performance.
- Capability to stand, walk, pull, push, and lift boxes up to 50 pounds to a height of 5 feet (manually or with equipment) over an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to safely pull pallet loads up to 1,700 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no at-fault accidents or moving violations in the past 5 years).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–3 years of related experience and/or formal driver training with appropriate certificates/diplomas.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills
- Knowledge of safe driving techniques for various weather, road conditions, and day/night driving.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 1st shift (may occasionally require work outside these hours).
Work Environment
- Approximately 60% of work is performed in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that may contain allergens.
- Warehouse environment with concrete floors and exposure to temperature changes ranging from 60°F to over 100°F.
- Requires continuous walking, standing, sitting, and physical activity.
