About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Navigate and locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including multi-story buildings.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
  • Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and accurate movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Skills

  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet quality control standards.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, and analyze/compile data.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), and hot surfaces/tools (up to 500°F or higher).
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
  • Tasks require standing for most of the shift, with short-distance walking on surfaces like ceramic tile or linoleum.
  • Occasional sitting for paperwork at a desk or table.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: Unload bulk product deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; lift cases from the floor to shelves up to 72" high. Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (stacks of 24-30 trays requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices, washing walls, or performing maintenance.

Sensory Requirements

  • Talking and hearing on the telephone.
  • Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks.
  • Depth perception and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
