Responsibilities

  • Operate store equipment and prepare product.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Receive and process telephone orders, take inventory, and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver pizzas and beverages to customers by car and on foot, navigating multi-story buildings and private homes.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
  • Use navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
  • Ability to read a map and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
  • Strong communication skills to process orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills for handling monetary transactions and making correct change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Skills

  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately.
  • Eye-hand coordination for tasks such as shaping pizza dough, using a pizza peel, and assembling boxes.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Comfort working in varying temperatures, from walk-in coolers to hot ovens.
  • Ability to work under stress, meet quality control standards, and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed while standing, including at workstations with heights between 36" and 48".
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations, including on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds, lifted from the floor to shelves up to 72" high. Occasional carrying of pizza sauce (30 lbs) or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Moving trays on dollies, requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force.
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing signs or performing maintenance.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist, particularly at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and while stocking ingredients.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuous reaching in all directions, including above 72" for tasks like adjusting oven controls or stocking shelves.
  • Hand Tasks: Frequent and forceful use of hands, wrists, and forearms for tasks like shaping dough, using a pizza peel, and assembling boxes. Ability to grasp tools, phones, and ingredients.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering orders, removing trash, or performing other outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or higher in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces and tools, including ovens up to 500°F or higher, and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory requirements include talking/hearing on the phone, near/mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Ability to work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments/decisions.
