About the Role
This classification assists with delivery and warehouse activities, including loading/unloading trucks and delivering merchandise to customers' homes or businesses.
Responsibilities
- Places stock on shelves or racks and sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
- Performs general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for warehouse and/or store.
- Unloads merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
- Ensures safe operations of vehicles by assisting delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas.
- Records deliveries on delivery record and submits to appropriate management.
- Loads truck in preparation for daily deliveries; assists with delivery, unloading, and set-up.
- Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Assists with repossessions of goods.
- Assembles merchandise as required.
- Performs customer service inspections and repairs as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of store/warehouse interior and grounds and upholds the company’s Delivery Standards.

- Assists in other store departments as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Junior High School Diploma.
- Six months of experience in distribution, warehouse environment, shipping/receiving, or delivering merchandise; or any combination of training, experience, and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; may require calculating decimals and utilizing principles of fractions.
- Functional Reasoning: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form, involving semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment.
- Situational Reasoning: Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in dealing with repetitive or short-cycle operations or duties carried out according to set procedures.
Physical Demands
- Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort, regularly involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderately heavy weight (up to 100 pounds) and occasionally handling heavier objects (in excess of 100 pounds).
- Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals.
- Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
- Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents, or toxic agents/chemicals.
