Deliver Driver and Team Lead for Home Furnishings Store

About the role

The right person will have experience in safely driving and operating a 26 ft box truck and also experience in home deliveries of large items, like home furnishings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily delivery operations while working hands-on alongside your team.
  • Guide and coach delivery staff, maintain vehicle and safety standards, coordinate with our warehouse and scheduling teams, and ensure every delivery reflects the quality and care our customers expect.
  • Support in-home placement, basic assembly, and care of customer property.
  • Verify delivery photos are taken, uploaded, and orders are updated in Shopify.
  • Coach and support delivery team members through daily feedback and hands-on instruction.
  • Share product knowledge, furniture handling expertise, and best practices with the team.
  • Confirm vehicles are fueled, clean, inspected, and ready for daily operations.
  • Reinforce safe driving practices and proper use of all equipment and mechanical aids.
  • Properly use tools like furniture dollies, floor dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, moving straps, furniture sliders, etc.
  • Model and enforce PPE standards at all times including lift protocols and safe moving techniques in all environments, including in and out of customer homes.
  • Inspect, clean, condition, and prepare all furniture prior to delivery.
  • Identify and address minor cosmetic issues before items reach the customer.
  • Support Monday Floor Moves with the Visuals and Design teams.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling, Warehouse, and Design teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Proven reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items weighing 75+ lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse environments, delivery vehicles, and customer homes.
  • Valid Class E License or above is required (CDL helpful but not required).
  • Prior experience in delivery, warehouse operations, or furniture handling preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must successfully pass a Missouri Department of Transportation physical examination for DOT medical certification.
  • Requires knowledge of safe moving and material handling practices, including proper use of dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, straps, sliders, and lift gates.
