Deli/Sandwich Clerk

As a Sandwich Clerk at our Chestnut Hill location, you’ll help fulfill our mission of keeping dollars local, supporting over 300 local food vendors, and enriching the people and planet around us.

This is a part-time position with an anticipated 20–29 hours per week. Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends, is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
• Observe all Weavers Way policies and procedures.
• Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Update displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure they comply with company standards and showcase new items and promotions.
• Ensure work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming tools are in working order.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Deli Manager or Manager on Duty.
• Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends.
• A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
• Deli counter or food preparation experience preferred.
• Commercial kitchen experience, including knife skills, is preferred.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good communication and people skills.
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• The ability to remain standing for extended periods of time.
• Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.
