About the role

The Deli Prep Manager position is responsible for assisting customers in their shopping experience by producing the highest quality deli products and delivering courteous, efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately prepare, package and label products for sale to customers.
• Know and practice appropriate portion control in deli production and service.
• Practice effective inventory management by counting and verifying merchandise against invoices and inspecting deliveries against for shortages, damages and quality.
• Know and practice rotation procedures to ensure product dates are properly monitored.
• Be able to prep and produce at least 1 full day or more on production products for all refrigerated cases.
• Maintain a high level of production items on hand according to the Deli Support team's guidelines.
• Ensure all coolers, freezers and preparation areas are clean and organized.
• Assist in additional areas such as thawing product for next day’s catering and/or hot line production.
• Able to prep and produce at least 1 full day or more on production products for all refrigerated cases.
• Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when it is appropriate to involve a member of the store management team.
• Know and implement the Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Comply with and encourage others to comply with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your store.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions.
• Demonstrate the basic math and reading skills required for the position.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.

Skills

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
