Deli Manager Trainee - Highland

About the Role

As a Deli Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the deli department, ensuring efficient operations, profitability, and excellent customer service. Your leadership will drive team performance, merchandising success, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all departmental associates, oversee their training, evaluate their work, recognize performance, and delegate assignments to maximize talent and profitability.
• Develop and implement merchandising plans, including creating attractive displays, promoting new and sales items, and executing promotional tie-ins to meet sales and profit objectives.
• Maintain proper inventory levels, prepare and track records to calculate gross profits according to company guidelines.
• Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations, managing labor, and reducing losses from shrinkage and pilferage.
• Maintain accurate department records on associate performance, recognition, and discipline.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Deli operations.
• Proven ability to take decisive action to meet budget expectations.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Excellent communication skills with vendors, customers, and employees.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a manager in food service.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, and associates.

Work Environment

Normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes, including cooler and freezer environments.
