Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate the Woods Supermarket D>E service and Hospitality 4 guidelines.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company standards.
  • Notify management of guest or teammate accidents or injuries.
  • Report all safety risks and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Be respectful, courteous, and helpful to other teammates.
  • Stay current with all ads and understand the store's layout to assist guests.
  • Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Complete other miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers.
  • Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation protocols for the department and equipment.
  • Update displays, cases, and other guest-facing areas to showcase new items and promotions.
  • Prep, store, rotate, and stock merchandise.
  • Prepare items per guest requests using proper equipment.
  • Inform guests of department-specific specials and make recommendations when asked.
  • Provide guests with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Use all equipment in the department according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note any discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
  • Follow all food safety guidelines and prepare foods according to food temperature logs.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Ensure all department teammates follow the company's hospitality guidelines.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to teammates.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage guest volume.
  • Train and develop teammates on job performance, providing immediate feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Order department-specific merchandise, including seasonal items.
  • Track inventory and report shrink for the department.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical ability.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Experience working in department-specific areas.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

Inside work with extreme variations in temperature, dust, and humidity from back door, compressors, cooler, freezer, and preparation area. Some outside work may be required.

Physical Demands

All teammates may be regularly required to perform the following motions: sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, reach, push, pull, grip, twist, lift, climb, carry, walk, and kneel.

Teammates must meet the minimum physical capacity to safely perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The role is classified as Medium strength level:

  • Occasionally: 20lbs–50lbs
  • Frequently: 10lbs–25lbs

Teammates age 18 and older may be required to safely handle and operate the following equipment:

  • Case cutter
  • Utility knife
  • Forklift (with proper certification)
  • Pallet jack
  • Compact Baler
  • Slicer
  • Oven
  • Fryer
  • Knives
  • Mixers

Safety

  • The teammate will not use or be under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol, or other impairing substances on the job.
  • The teammate will not create a direct threat to the health and safety of others on the job.

Pay

$58,000 - $65,000 annually.
