Deli Clerk - Valpo US 30

About the role

As a Deli associate, you will slice deli meats and cheeses to order, fry and bake chicken and other products, and prepare sandwiches, salads, entrees, and more. You will provide product suggestions, assist customers with special orders, and deliver outstanding customer service. You will stock cases to ensure customers have a variety of high-quality deli items, maintain complete compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements, and clean and sanitize dishes, food preparation areas, and equipment. In some areas, a food handler's certification may be required.

Essential functions

• Assist customers
• Stock and rotate product
• Inspect deli products for freshness
• Face merchandise in department
• Operate meat slicer
• Operate merchandise scale
• Operate stove/oven/fryer
• Take orders
• Build displays
• Package items for sale
• Clean and sanitize department, backroom, and cooler/freezer
• Change fryer oil
