Deli Cafe Clerk

About the Role

This role is responsible for working independently to prepare food, fry, package, display, and stock deli products while contributing to the financial success of the store. You will ensure compliance with company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce deli products according to the production planner.
• Package and label deli products per program plan.
• Merchandise deli products per flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with deli products, rotating and dating cases/buckets.
• Collaborate with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash retail locations.
• Notify the Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Perform basic mathematical functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, division).
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights, measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
• Follow all PPE, safety, and food safety guidelines.
• Adhere to guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail-oriented.

Physical Requirements

• May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must stand and walk for extended periods, and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Works in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
• Travel requirements vary by assignment.
