About the role
SpartanNash, a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family, is a food‑solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods—including fresh produce and the Our Family® portfolio—to locations in all 50 states. This part‑time position is based at 3003 108th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68164, and supports the bakery and deli operations in a retail store environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce bakery/deli products according to the production planner.
- Package and label bakery/deli products per program plan.
- Merchandise bakery/deli products following flight‑plan and merchandising expectations.
- Stock the backroom with bakery/deli products, rotating and dating cases/buckets.
- Collaborate with other departments and stores to drive growth in SpartanNash retail locations.
- Notify the bakery/deli manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
- Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) as needed.
- Communicate tasks, recipes, weights, measures, and cleaning steps to fellow associates.
- Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines.
- Adhere to food‑safety and cleaning expectations.
- Observe guest‑experience guidelines.
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer‑experience needs.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma (GED) preferred.
- One year of retail or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Detail‑oriented.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting/moving of up to 30 lb; occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 lb.
- Extended periods of standing and walking; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning.
- Work in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Noise level generally low to moderate.
- Travel requirements vary by assignment.
