About the role

This part-time union position offers a progressive scale up to $18.00 / hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Make lasting connections with our customers
• Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses (you may have to handle pork)
• Fill and rotate cases and display (may be some heavy lifting-up to 50lbs)
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary store
• Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department
• Be a part of a dedicated team that enjoys their job, arrives promptly for shifts, and works as scheduled

Requirements

• Willingness to work various Sunday - Saturday hours
• Knowledge of meats, cheeses, salads, and good food
• Completion of Food Safety training
• Motivation to grow career and continue learning

Physical Demands

• Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 500 to 1500 pounds
• Walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting
• Using equipment such as scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, and intercom
• Operating equipment such as pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, roaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee pot, cleaning utensils
• Using mental abilities such as judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, hot equipment and cooking oil
