About the role

Location: Jerry's Foods Edina. Reports to: Deli Manager. Classification: Part Time.

Responsibilities

• Make lasting connections with customers.
• Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses (may handle pork).
• Fill and rotate cases and displays (may involve heavy lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary store.
• Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department.
• Be part of a dedicated team that enjoys their job, arrives promptly for shifts, and works as scheduled.

Requirements

• Friendly and outgoing, promotes customer service for the team.
• Knowledge of meats, cheeses, salads and good food.
• Completed Food Safety training.
• Motivated to grow career and continue learning.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently; push/pull 500-1500 lbs; walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting.
• Occasional lifting/carrying over 50 lbs; crawling.
• Experience operating scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom, pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, roaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee pot, cleaning utensils.
• Mental judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, hot equipment and cooking oil.

Pay

Progressive scale from $15.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience, with possibility of earning an additional $3.00 per hour for open availability.

Schedule

Hours: Sunday – Saturday, varied hours. Flexible schedule available.
