About the role
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department and control all established quality assurance standards. Monitor all functions, duties and activities related to the Deli department.
Responsibilities

- Maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Monitor and manage departmental activities.
- Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
- Develop and implement a department business plan.
- Manage customer volume through adequate scheduling.
- Train and develop associates on their job performance.
- Inform and educate customers about products and store promotions.
- Inspect and maintain product quality and freshness.
- Create and execute sales promotions.
- Manage inventory and stock levels.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
- Report safety risks, conflicts, and illegal activity.
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
Requirements
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Current food handlers permit.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Any management experience.
- Any deli/retail experience.
- Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) preferred.
