About the role
Consumers Cooperative is seeking a friendly and reliable Part-Time Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and food preparation, and be committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections. Provide information on deli products, including ingredients and preparation methods. Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare deli items, such as sandwiches, pizzas, and hot foods, according to company recipes and standards. Ensure food is presented attractively and maintain fresh stock levels throughout the shift. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest quality products.
- Deli Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including counters, display cases, and equipment. Assist with stocking shelves, rotating products, and ensuring the deli area is fully stocked and well-organized.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient deli operation. Communicate any product shortages or issues to the deli manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong customer service skills, basic math skills for handling transactions, and good communication abilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform tasks that require reaching, bending, and stooping.
Working Conditions
The position requires standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment. The deli associate must adhere to safety and sanitation standards and dress appropriately for the role, including wearing a company-approved uniform and maintaining grooming standards.
