About the role
Consumers Cooperative is seeking a friendly and reliable Full-Time Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and food preparation, and be committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections.
- Provide information on deli products, including ingredients and preparation methods.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Prepare deli items, such as sandwiches, pizzas, and hot foods, according to company recipes and standards.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and maintain fresh stock levels throughout the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including counters, display cases, and equipment.
- Assist with stocking shelves, rotating products, and ensuring the deli area is fully stocked and well-organized.
- Work effectively with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient deli operation.
- Communicate any product shortages or issues to the deli manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills, basic math skills for handling transactions, and good communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform tasks that require reaching, bending, and stooping.
