Degumming Operator

This position is located in the Bunge North America soybean processing plant in Decatur, IN. The Degumming Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating the degumming process in the Refined Oil Department. Candidates must actively participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees.

Schedule

• 2nd, 3rd, or swing shift
• 8-hour shifts, 7 days on / 2 days off schedule

Pay

$30.42 an hour

Responsibilities

• Complete daily walkthroughs to check equipment and tank levels
• Operate production equipment to fill containers, blow filters out, and check oil flow
• Pull samples and check filters
• Load and unload tankers
• Monitor and document equipment readings
• Report any concerns with safe food practices
• Perform department sanitation duties
• Communicate process and equipment deficiencies with other operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors
• Commit to supplying safe food, maintaining a food safety culture, continually improving the site’s food safety management system, and complying with customer and regulatory requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Basic computer and mechanical skills
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willing to work overtime, flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in an industrial environment
