Join the JMG team and help shape the future for Maine youth! JMG is looking to fill its opening at Deering High School, Portland, ME (Cumberland County), for a JMG Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Build trusting, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Deliver engaging, competency-to-credential based instruction and adapt teaching strategies to different learning needs.
• Manage multiple responsibilities and lead a student-centered program.
• Work effectively with school staff, families, employers, and community partners to create career-connected learning opportunities.
• Afford students, and maintain a strong, positive presence for the program within the school and broader community.

Qualifications

• Strong classroom facilitation skills to deliver engaging, competency-to-credential based instruction.
• Ability to motivate and guide diverse learners toward academic, career, and personal success.
• Strong communication, active listening, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with school staff, families, employers, and community partners.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Maine CHRC approval, or the ability to obtain it, is required.

Pay and Benefits

• Salary: $43,750 per year, with additional performance-based bonuses.
• Paid Time Off: Includes school vacation weeks in December, February, and April, plus 15 additional vacation days.
• Sick Leave: 3 weeks of sick time and 1 week of Covid time.
