Job Summary
The Deepwater Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling offshore production systems from the central control room on a deepwater facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations by monitoring process conditions, responding to alarms, coordinating with field personnel, and supporting production optimization.Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safe and efficient oil, gas, water handling, compression, and utility operations.
- Monitor pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and equipment performance.
- Respond to alarms and process upsets and coordinate with offshore operations personnel.
- Support well startups, shut-ins, routing changes, and production adjustments.
- Complete shift logs, production reports, and operational handovers.
- Participate in emergency response and follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
- Absorb troubleshooting and operational support as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- 5+ years of offshore oil and gas operations experience is required, with deepwater offshore experience preferred.
- Experience with DCS/SCADA and emergency shutdown systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of offshore production and compression systems is essential.
- The ability to read P&IDs and follow operating procedures is necessary.
- Current offshore certifications such as TWIC and HUET are preferred.
