DEEP Program Tutor (Student/Work Study)

To apply, you must have a faculty recommendation form submitted from a UM-Flint faculty member for each course you wish to tutor. A cover letter must be included with your resume, uploaded as one document. Please specify which subjects you wish to tutor.

About the role

This DEEP tutor will assist students off campus at the Hartland DEEP location for Medical Science courses.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students on a weekly basis to discuss current course topics and coordinate class activities as assigned by faculty
• Assist faculty as needed
• Answer relevant student questions related to course material

Requirements

• Position open to current UM-Flint undergraduate students or previous UM-Flint undergraduate students who have attended UM-Flint within the past six months only
• A recommendation from a UM-Flint faculty member
• Demonstrated excellence in academic subject area/areas in which you wish to tutor
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Ability to follow all procedures and policies related to documenting student usage and hours worked
• 3.0 GPA or strong faculty recommendation if GPA is lower
• Must have computer and access to the internet
• Must be available on Fridays

Schedule

Onsite work required at a designated U-M owned or leased work location (Hartland DEEP location).
