About the role
The Décor Operator reports to the Department Superintendent and is responsible for production, quality, and safe operation of designated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Observe machine operation to ensure high quality and efficiency.
- Make necessary equipment changes (screens, squeegees, forms, clean spray guns, etc.) and operational adjustments.
- Perform regular interval inspections of glassware to ensure conformance to customer specifications.
- Apply knowledge of basic safety principles within the department and plant; identify all safety mechanisms on the line and know how/when to stop the machine in times of trouble.
- Assist in setup and operation of decoration machines, including job changes and preparation to minimize downtime.
- Advise setup of adjustments and communicate potential or observed quality problems specific to productions.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairs with the maintenance shop; perform small-level maintenance tasks to keep machines in production.
- Quickly identify defects on the line and immediately troubleshoot to resolve issues.
- Regulate and monitor inventory levels of working materials at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Perform job changes around the clock; become self-sufficient within one year to set up and run the machine without assistance from Set Up personnel.
