ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observe machine operation to ensure high quality and efficiency.
- Makes necessary equipment changes (screens, squeegees, forms, clean spray guns, etc.) to machine as well as operational adjustments.
- Make regular interval inspections of glassware to ensure conformance to customer specifications.
- Knowledge of basic safety principles within the department and within the plant. Must be able to work safely, and identify all safeties on the line, and how/when to stop the machine in times of trouble.
- Assist in setup and operation of decoration machines. Help on job changes and preparation to ensure downtime is minimized.
- Advise setup of adjustments and potential problems or quality problems seen specific to productions.
- Help on troubleshooting and repairs with the maintenance shop.
- Perform small level maintenance tasks in order to keep machines in production.
- Must be able to quickly identify defects of the line and immediately troubleshoot to resolve the issue.
- Ensure inventory levels of working materials are regulated and beginning and end of shift.
- This position may also be responsible for job changes around the clock.
- Operators must be self-sufficient within 1 year and be able to set up and run the machine without the help of Set Up personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of general equipment, ability to work on moving equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Able to ensure replication of design elements as small as 1 mm.
- Mechanically inclined, ability to exercise logical approach to troubleshooting problems.
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Needs to be reliable and a self-starter; will work independently with minimal supervision.
