About the role
The Deburring Technician removes sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections from metal parts and weldments to specified tolerances using powered or hand tools, vibratory tumbling, and grit blasting. Technicians ensure all components meet product specifications and quality standards after deburring operations, working independently within established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Remove burrs and sharp edges from metal parts and assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and machinery to specified tolerances.
- Operate and maintain grinders, sanders, buffers, vibratory tumbling machines, and grit blasting equipment.
- Clean parts using appropriate methods to remove contaminants and apply corrosion inhibitors where specified.
- Buff and polish parts to achieve desired surface finish and appearance.
- Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality.
- Follow verbal, written, and electronic work instructions to complete tasks.
- Keep daily production records and record pertinent manufacturing data.
- Learn, practice, and follow all safety standards and policies, including use of protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Typically requires 0-1 years of related experience.
- Mechanical aptitude: ability to use hand tools and shop equipment for assembly, installation, fabrication, and rework tasks on metal aircraft components.
- Dexterity: ability to work with hands to complete assembly operations.
- Problem-solving: ability to analyze complex problems, ask questions, and determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Communication: ability to communicate complex concepts effectively with all levels of the organization in verbal and written forms.
- Language: ability to read, write, and speak English.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to identify, troubleshoot, and determine root cause of problems.
- Teamwork: ability to build relationships, balance team and individual responsibilities, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Support of organizational goals, objectives, and values; adherence to company policies and procedures; observation of safety and security procedures; participation in 6S program (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, sustain, safety).

Pay
Salary Range: USD $16.18/Hr. - USD $24.27/Hr.
