Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) is seeking a Debug Technician to troubleshoot and repair failures, diagnose root causes, and recommend corrective actions in a production environment. This contract position offers a temp-to-hire opportunity within the Smart Manufacturing sector.
About the Role
Reporting to the Failure Analysis Engineering Manager, the Debug Technician conducts tests and troubleshoots electronic products, components, and systems to ensure production quality standards are met. The role involves critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration to resolve hardware issues.
Responsibilities
- Test server/computer trays to meet specified requirements.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and determine root causes at multiple system levels for customer devices, analyzing circuits and topologies to identify marginal failure root causes.
- Repair failing devices and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor ORT (on-going reliability tests) and RDT (reliability demonstration tests), reporting issues to Test Engineers.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to investigate hardware issues down to the component level.
- Document procedures and follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Assist with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs.
- Work with multiple internal engineering disciplines (HW, SW, Diags, Quality, Product, Mechanical, Materials, Reliability) to resolve complex hardware issues.
- Assist Test Engineers with test station setup, modeling, pre-pilot, and pilot runs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read test logs.
- Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX.
- Experience working with switches, network equipment, and related hardware.
- Proficiency in electronic assembly, including schematics, PCB point-to-point wiring, and cable/connector/wire soldering.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, cable and harness testing, troubleshooting, component testing, and logic analyzers.
- Inspection skills for PCB-loaded components, cables/harnesses, and microscopic examination.
The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions.
