Responsibilities
- Review the day's queue and key reports, prioritize items impacting customers immediately.
- Follow up on open questions and confirmations, closing the loop by end of business day with courteous, well-documented communication.
- Set aside focused time to complete department routines such as balancing, report validation, and customer-related maintenance verification.
- Cook up with coworkers, other departments, and vendors, keeping messages clear, concise, and professional.
- Contribute to workflow documentation and special projects, and participate in bank-sponsored community events that promote Mercantile Bank.
- Support Debit Card Services by ensuring accurate card maintenance, timely issue resolution, and a consistently high standard of service for internal and external customers.
- Process debit card updates and adjustments, complete daily balancing and reporting, produce customer notices/letters, support monthly audit activities, and assist with special projects and workflow documentation.
- Partner with teammates, other departments, and vendors while complying with all laws, regulations, and bank procedures.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of relevant experience; prior bank card operations experience preferred
- Customer service, data entry, and strong attention to detail
- Clear verbal/written communication and sound problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Fiserv/Navigator/Director/EFT preferred
- Personal mobile device available for system sign-in and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
