About the role
The Dean of Students and Assistant Athletic Director position at Winthrop High School supports student achievement, fosters a positive school climate, oversees student support systems, promotes high standards of conduct and engagement, and assists in coordinating, supervising, and complying with all high school athletic and co-curricular programs.
Responsibilities
- Support student achievement and foster a positive school climate
- Oversight of student support systems including RTI and intervention processes
- Lead daily school operations
- Assist in the coordination, supervision, and compliance of all high school athletic and co-curricular programs
- Coordinate, supervise, and ensure compliance with all high school athletic and co-curricular programs
- Supervise and support coaches and student-athletes
- Ensure high standards of conduct and engagement among students
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community
Requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of five years of successful combined teaching and administrative experience
- Demonstrated athletic leadership experience
- Evening and weekend availability for athletic events and school activities
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
- Experience in student support systems and intervention processes
- Knowledge of athletic administration and compliance

Pay
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
