About the role

The Dean of Natural Sciences is responsible for overseeing the academic programs in the natural sciences department at Los Rios Community College District.

Responsibilities

• Oversee curriculum development and implementation for all natural science courses.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance educational opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to education and training.
• Manage budget and resources for the department.
• Collaborate with other college administrators to support the overall mission of the district.

Requirements

• A PhD in a relevant field of natural sciences.
• At least 10 years of experience in higher education administration.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working with community colleges and/or adult learners.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in natural sciences education.
