About the role

The Dean of Advanced Technology and Applied Learning reports directly to the Executive Dean of Career and Technical Education.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership, operational oversight, and administrative direction for academic and workforce development programs.
  • Planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of instructional programs aligned with industry needs, workforce demands, and college's strategic priorities.
  • Fostering collaboration with faculty, staff, industry partners, advisory committees, and community organizations to ensure high-quality educational opportunities.
  • Overseeing departmental fiscal management, including budget development and stewardship, resource allocation, and financial accountability.
  • Led creation and expansion of innovative workforce initiatives, development and management of grants and externally funded projects, and advancement of regional economic development through strategic partnerships.
  • Championing student success, promoting innovation in teaching and learning, supporting employee development, and working collaboratively across the institution to strengthen career pathways, expand access to education, and respond to emerging workforce and economic opportunities.

Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience in higher education administration, preferably in a technical or vocational setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic plans that align with industry needs and workforce demands.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with industry partners, advisory committees, and community organizations.
  • Effective fiscal management and budgeting skills.
  • Experience in grant writing and managing external funding sources.
  • Ability to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the institution.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in higher education administration, preferably in a technical or vocational setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with industry needs and workforce demands.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with industry partners, advisory committees, and community organizations.
  • Effective fiscal management and budgeting skills.
  • Experience in grant writing and managing external funding sources.
  • Ability to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the institution.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The Dean of Advanced Technology and Applied Learning is expected to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with occasional evening and weekend hours required to meet the demands of the position.
