Deaf & Hard Of Hearing Specialist
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director-Special Education, provide instruction, assessment and program planning for special education students with a primary disability of autism, deaf-blindness, moderate to severe intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, and/or serious emotional disturbance; monitor and evaluate students' progress and behavior; research, obtain and provide instructional materials for special education services; serve as an informational resource for students, parents, District personnel and community organizations; work within a self-contained classroom.

Responsibilities
- Provide instruction, assessment, and program planning for students with disabilities.
- Monitor and evaluate students' progress and behavior.
- Research, obtain, and provide instructional materials for special education services.
- Serve as an informational resource for students, parents, District personnel, and community organizations.
- Work within a self-contained classroom environment.
Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License
- Valid California Credential in Special Education, authorizing instruction for the Hearing Impaired
- Demonstrate Communication in American Sign Language
- Successful teaching experience, or successful remedial teaching experience, or student teaching or internship in a program for pupils with a hearing impairment
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License and original, sealed transcripts will be required of the successful candidate.
