Description
The Senior Controls Technician supports customers by troubleshooting and programming temperature control systems according to project specifications. Responsibilities include calibration and check-out of control systems, creating control graphics, instructing customer personnel, and providing guidance to junior team members.
- Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturer recommendations.
- Perform calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure specified sequence of operations and commissioning obligations are met.
- Create control graphics for projects and provide labor and expertise for graphical user interfaces in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents.
- Instruct customer's personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conservation routines.
- Provide information to update drawings and maintain records for as-built documentation.
- Advise service sales managers of additional sales potential and solicit service contracts while performing start-up, commissioning, and owner training tasks.
- Guide controls technicians on programming project databases, calibration, check-out of control systems, and preparing graphical user interfaces.
- Cook with inter-office or third-party graphics providers as needed.
- Provide technical expertise and standardized procedures to enhance control technician efficiency.
Qualifications
- 2 years tech school and 3 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience or 3-5 years experience.
- Certifications in KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
- Expert programming and troubleshooting skills with KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
- Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
- Expert knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and take responsibility and accountability.
- Strong customer service and analytical skills.

- Completion of the ASP program.

Pay
Pay Range: $40 - $50 per hour, plus potential profit share. Sign-on bonuses of up to $3,500 are available.
