About the Role

As an Emerson Impact Partner, we offer a broad base of superior solutions, including top product lines for process control, automation, and reliability. This role involves DCS configuration, PLC programming, and implementing automation strategies to optimize process control.

Responsibilities

  • DCS configuration and PLC programming, including:
    • Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
    • Alarm Management
    • Burner Management
    • HMI graphics (iFIX)
    • Simple or complex loops
    • Batch
    • Ladder logic
    • SCADA
  • Participate in designing, configuring, testing, debugging, and documenting user applications in various software products.
  • Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to ensure efficient program logic.
  • Act as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially for problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Identify and provide innovative solutions to bring value to customers.
  • Implement automation strategies, optimize process control, and investigate process control-related issues by coordinating with plant process and control engineers.
  • Experience with Cloud-Based Virtual environments and knowledge of basic network architectures.
  • Plan and execute software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant software/computer-related fields, or two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Related experience includes spreadsheet manipulation, database manipulation, and macro development.
  • Additional experience preferred with any DCS systems such as Operator Display implementation, I/O database implementation, and Control Strategy implementation.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively alongside customers, management, and sales organization.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, algorithms) to practical and complex situations.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form involving abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficiency in the following computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, email, database software, networking, PC, and mainframe systems.
