Responsibilities
Design, configure, test, debug, and document user applications in various software products.
Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic.
Act as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially relating to problem diagnosis and resolution.
Discover inspiring methods that bring great value to the customer by identifying and providing innovative solutions.
Implement automation strategies, optimize process control, and investigate process control related issues by coordinating with plant process and control engineers.
Work with cloud-based virtual environments and knowledge of basic network architectures.
Plan and execute software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant software/computer related fields, or two to four years related experience and/or training.
Related experience includes spreadsheet manipulation or database manipulation and macro development.
Preferred experience with any DCS systems such as Operator Display implementation, I/O database implementation, and Control Strategy implementation.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively alongside Puffer-Sweiven’s customers, management, and sales organization.
Able to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and algorithms to practical and complex situations.
Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that apply to several abstract and concrete variables.
Able to effectively use the following computer applications: Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, Networking, PC and mainframe systems.
