SLB New Energy & Industrial (NEI) is a division of SLB, focusing on carbon capture and sequestration, geothermal power, energy storage, sustainable battery-grade lithium, hydrogen, and Data Center Infrastructure Solutions. Our Data Center Infrastructure Solutions business provides innovative and cost-effective solutions for building faster, smarter, and more resilient data centers.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of new products for data center infrastructure applications.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, layouts, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and/or Creo.
- Aid in the design of liquid cooling systems, piping layouts, manifolds, and hydraulic circuits.
- Support the development of modular and containerized data center solutions.
- Participate in engineering calculations, component selection, and design evaluations.
- Assist with prototype assembly, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
- Work closely with senior engineers to develop innovative cooling and mechanical solutions.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and test reports.
- Support Design Reviews, risk assessments, and product development activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product designs and support production readiness.
- Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for design or manufacturing issues.
- Work with suppliers to evaluate components, materials, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, performance, reliability, and cost.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends related to data center infrastructure and cooling technologies.
- Support product launches and transition activities from development to production.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow technical capabilities within a collaborative engineering environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-5 years of mechanical engineering experience in product development, equipment design, or related engineering environments
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Creo
- Experience with mechanical system design involving piping, fluid systems, hydraulic circuits, or cooling equipment
- Familiarity with heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermal management principles
- Experience supporting prototype development, laboratory testing, and hands-on product validation activities
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and GD&T principles
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and desire to grow in a rapidly evolving industry
